Pinpoint Test C: The Climate Control Illumination Is Inoperative

CAUTION:
Use the correct probe adaptor(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adaptor(s) may damage the connector.
- C1 CHECK CIRCUIT VLN18 (BU/WH) FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: Climate Control C294b
- Place the headlamp switch in the PARKING LAMPS ON position.
- Rotate the instrument panel dimmer switch to the full illumination position.
- Measure the voltage between the climate control C294b-1, circuit VLN18 (BU/WH), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?

- YES : Go to C2.
- NO : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- C2 CHECK CIRCUIT GD161 (BK/YE) FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between the climate control C294b-2, circuit GD161 (BK/YE), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

- YES : INSTALL a new climate control function selector switch. REFER to CLIMATE CONTROL . TEST the system for normal operation.
- NO : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
