Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) Parameter Reset

NOTE:
When using the IDS, the instrument cluster and the powertrain control module (PCM) parameters are reset at the same time.
NOTE:
Once security access has been granted, multiple security access commands should be executed (if necessary) prior to exiting the command menu. This avoids an additional security access procedure and the associated 10 minute time delay.
- Turn the key from the OFF position to the ON position.
- From the scan tool, enter TOOL BOX. Select BODY-SECURITY-PATS Functions and follow the on-screen instructions to ENTER SECURITY ACCESS. For additional information, refer to Anti-Theft Security Access in this section.
- From the scan tool, select: Parameter Reset and press the tick mark.
- From the scan tool, select: Ignition Key Code Erase and press the tick mark.
- Turn the key to the OFF position and disconnect the scan tool.
- Turn the key to the ON position for a minimum of 3 seconds.
- Remove the key and cycle the second key to the ON position for a minimum of 3 seconds.
- Both keys will now start the vehicle.

NOTE:
If the instrument cluster was replaced, follow Steps 4-9. If the instrument cluster and the PCM were replaced, follow Steps 4-9. If only the PCM was replaced, go to Step 9.
