Transmission Support Crossmember

6 6A023 Transmission crossmember
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .

  3. Remove the 2 transmission mount nuts from the transmission support crossmember.
    • To install, tighten to 90 N.m (66 lb-ft).
  4. CAUTION: Do not allow the transmission to hang freely.
  5. Support the transmission with a suitable jack.

    NOTE: Four wheel drive (4WD) transmission support crossmember shown, rear wheel drive (RWD) transmission support crossmember similar.
  7. Remove the transmission support crossmember.
    • Remove the 2 horizontal transmission support crossmember bolts and nuts (1 each side).
      • To install, tighten to 127 Nm (94 lb-ft).
    • Remove the 4 vertical transmission support crossmember bolts and nuts (2 each side).
      • To install, tighten to 99 Nm (73 lb-ft).
    • Remove the transmission support crossmember.
  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
