WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Ford Ranger. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. (Do not start the engine.)
  2. Wait until the safety belt warning indicator turns off (approximately one minute).
  3. NOTE: Step 3 must be completed within 50 seconds or the procedure must be repeated.
  4. For the seating position being disabled, buckle and unbuckle the safety belt 9 times, ending with the safety belt unbuckled.
    • After this step the safety belt warning indicator illuminates for 3 seconds.
  5. Within 5 seconds of the safety belt warning indicator turning off, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt at a moderate speed. This enables the belt minder if disabled or disables the belt minder if enabled.
  6. The following event confirms the belt minder is enabled or disabled:
    • If enabled, flashing of the safety belt warning belt indicator 4 times per second for 3 seconds confirms the belt minder is disabled.
    • If disabled, flashing the safety belt indicator 4 times per second for 3 seconds confirms the belt minder is enabled.
  7. After confirmation, the deactivation/activation procedure is complete.
