Belt Tension Sensor (BTS)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Ford Ranger. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The safety belt tension sensor (BTS) is part of the passenger front safety belt and retractor assembly and is not serviced separately. The safety BTS is located at the safety belt anchor point and is used in conjunction with the occupant classification sensor (OCS) system. For information on diagnosing the BTS and OCS or servicing the OCS system, refer to the appropriate procedure in SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
