Condition Possible Sources Action
  • The daytime running lamps (DRL) are inoperative
  • Headlamp bulbs
  • Smart junction box (SJB)
    NOTE: Make sure the SJB is configured for DRL.
  • PLACE the headlamp switch in the HEADLAMPS ON position.
    • If the headlamps do not operate correctly, REFER to Headlamps  in this article.
  • The daytime running lamps (DRL) are on with the parking brake set
  • Circuitry
  • SJB
  • APPLY the parking brake with the ignition switch in the RUN position.
    • If the brake warning indicator operates correctly and DTC U1055 is not present, INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES article. TEST the system for normal operation.
    • If the brake warning indicator does not operate correctly, REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER article to continue diagnosis of the brake warning indicator.
