Throttle Body

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING article.
  3. Remove the bolt and the snow shield.

    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  4. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
  5. Disconnect the accelerator cable, the speed control cable and the return spring.

  6. Remove the 3 bolts, the stud bolt and the throttle body (TB).
    • Discard the TB gasket.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  7. If servicing the TB, remove the TP sensor. For additional information, refer to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS article.
  8. NOTE: Clean all TB sealing surfaces and install a new TB gasket.
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
