Output Shaft and Bearing: Disassembly

- Remove the following components:

- The bearing outer snap ring.
- The 3rd/4th synchronizer spacer.
- The thrust bearing.
- Remove the following components:
- The 3rd/4th synchronizer.
- The 3rd gear blocking ring.
- The 3rd gear.
- The 3rd gear needle bearing.
- Position the output shaft in a press. Press off the output shaft center bearing, the 1st gear, the 1st/2nd synchronizer assembly and the 2nd gear.
NOTE:
Press off 3rd/4th synchronizer, if stuck.
CAUTION:
Make sure that the output shaft flange does not contact or ride up onto the press cradle. Incorrect positioning can result in component damage.
