Input Shaft Bearing: Disassembly

- Inspect the input shaft bearing for wear or damage.
- Inspect the input shaft for damage or wear. For additional information, refer to MANUAL TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
- Remove and discard the front bearing oil scoop ring.
- Using the special tool, press the input shaft bearing from the input shaft.
CAUTION:
To prevent damage, inspect the surface of the input shaft in the area of the bearing race to make sure it is smooth and free of burrs.
CAUTION:
Hold the input shaft so it does not fall.
NOTE:
Remove the input shaft bearing only if installing a new one.
