Extension Housing Gasket - Four Wheel Drive (4WD): Installation

- Clean the extension housing and install a new extension housing gasket. Make sure that the parking pawl, spring and shaft are correctly installed.
- Position the extension housing and install the 6 extension housing screws and studs.
- Tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb-ft).
- Install the transmission mount into the crossmember.
- Tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
- Install the wire harness locators from the extension housing wire bracket.
- Install the transfer case. For additional information, refer to TRANSFER CASE .
- Fill the transmission with clean automatic transmission fluid to the correct level and check for correct transmission operation.
CAUTION:
Make sure the parking lever actuating rod is correctly seated in the case parking rod guide cup.
