Exhaust Downpipe - 2.3L: Removal

CAUTION: Do not use oil or grease-based lubricants on the isolators. These lubricants may cause deterioration of the rubber. This can lead to separation of the isolator from the exhaust hanger bracket during vehicle operation.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) and catalyst monitor sensor electrical connectors.
Remove the exhaust downpipe-to-muffler and tailpipe assembly bolts.
Remove the exhaust manifold-to-exhaust downpipe nuts.

Remove the transmission mount and isolator-to-transmission bolt and remove the exhaust downpipe.
