  1. Remove the A/C compressor. For additional information, refer to Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor - 2.3L , Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor - 3.0L  or Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor - 4.0L  in this article.


  1. Remove the A/C clutch pulley snap ring.

  2. Remove the A/C clutch pulley.

    • Install the special tool.
    • Remove the A/C clutch pulley.
  3. CAUTION: Do not use air tools. The A/C compressor clutch field coil can be easily damaged.

  4. Remove the A/C compressor clutch field coil.
    • Install the special tool on the nose opening of the A/C compressor.
    • Install the special tool.
    • Remove the A/C compressor clutch field coil.
