Coolant Pump - 3.0L: Removal

  1. Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding - 3.0L, 4.0L  in this article.
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING article.
  3. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE article.
  4. Remove the fan blade and the fan shroud. For additional information, refer to Cooling Fan Shroud - 3.0L, 4.0L  in this article.
  5. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump pulley.
  6. Disconnect the heater hose.
  7. Disconnect the wiring harness retainer.
  8. Remove the nut and detach the battery cable bracket.
  9. Remove the side stud bolts from the A/C compressor mounting bracket.
  10. Disconnect the bypass hose.
  11. Remove the bolt and the accessory drive belt tensioner.
  12. Remove the front bolts and position the A/C compressor mounting bracket aside.
  13. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump.
  14. Clean the sealing surfaces.
