Coolant Pump - 3.0L: Installation

  1. Position the coolant pump and loosely install the 10 bolts and 2 stud bolts.

    • Tighten bolts 1-7 in the sequence shown to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
    • Tighten bolts 8-12 in the sequence shown to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  2. Position the A/C compressor mounting bracket and install the front bolts.
    • Tighten to 51 Nm (38 lb-ft).
  3. Position the accessory drive belt tensioner and install the bolt.
    • Tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft).
  4. Connect the bypass hose.
  5. Install the A/C compressor mounting bracket side stud bolts.
    • Tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
  6. Position the battery cable bracket and install the nut.
    • Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  7. Install the coolant pump pulley.
    • Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  8. Install the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE article.
  9. Attach the wiring harness retainer.
  10. Connect the heater hose.
  11. Install the fan blade and fan shroud. For additional information, refer to Cooling Fan Shroud - 3.0L, 4.0L  in this article.
  12. Install the air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING article.
  13. Fill the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding - 3.0L, 4.0L  in this article.
