Removal And Installation

- Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding - 2.3L in this article.
- Disconnect the radiator upper hose from the front coolant outlet pipe.
- Disconnect the engine coolant vent hose from the front coolant outlet pipe.
- Disconnect the heater hose from the front coolant outlet pipe.
- Remove the oil indicator tube-to-front coolant outlet pipe bolt.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Remove the bolts and remove the front coolant outlet pipe.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
Inspect the 2 O-ring seals. Install new O-ring seals if necessary.
NOTE:
Lubricate the O-ring seals with clean engine coolant.
