Wheel and Tire: Removal

- If equipped, remove the wheel cover or center cap.
- With the weight of the vehicle on the tires, loosen the wheel nuts.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
- Remove the wheel nuts.
- Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
CAUTION:
Do not use heat to loosen a seized wheel nut. Heat can damage the wheel and wheel bearings.
NOTE:
Do not remove the wheel nuts at this time.
