WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Ford Ranger. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING: Remove all dirt, foreign material or corrosion from the mating surfaces of the hub and wheel prior to installing the wheel assembly. An incorrectly cleaned mating surface may result in insufficient clamp load between the wheel and hub. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury to vehicle occupant(s).
WARNING: Retighten wheel nuts within 160 km (100 mi) after a wheel is reinstalled. Wheels can loosen after initial tightening. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious injury to vehicle occupant(s).
WARNING: Retighten wheel nuts within 160 km (100 mi) after a wheel is reinstalled. For dual rear wheel (DRW) only, a second retightening is required within 800 km (500 mi). Wheels can loosen after initial tightening. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious injury to vehicle occupant(s).
  1. Clean the wheel-to-wheel hub mounting surface(s).
  2. CAUTION: Make sure to apply a thin coat of anti-seize lubricant only to the area of the wheel that contacts hub pilot surface. Do not allow the lubricant to make contact with the wheel studs, brake pads or brake disc.
  3. Apply a thin coat of anti-seize lubricant to the wheel hub pilot surface.
  4. Position the tire and wheel assembly and install the wheel nuts hand-tight, then lower the vehicle.
  5. CAUTION: Failure to tighten the wheel nuts in a star pattern may result in high brake disc runout, which will speed up the development of brake roughness, shudder and vibration.
