Lower Arm - Torsion Bar Suspension: Installation

- Position the lower arm and loosely install the 2 lower arm bolts and the 2 lower arm nuts.
- Position the ball joint and install the ball joint nut.
- Tighten to 133 Nm (98 lb-ft).
- Install a new lower ball joint cotter pin.
- Install the 2 shock absorber lower nuts.
- Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- Install the stabilizer link stud and grommet and the stabilizer link assembly.
- Tighten the stabilizer link nut to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).
- Install the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to WHEELS AND TIRES article.
- With the weight of the vehicle on the wheel and tire, tighten the 2 lower arm nuts to 200 Nm (148 lb-ft).
NOTE:
Do not tighten the bolts at this time.
CAUTION:
Install the new cotter pin into the lower ball joint from outboard to inboard with the fingers bent together at a right angle. Failure to do so will result in damage to the wheel and tire assembly.
