Normal Operation

Voltage is supplied to the brake pedal position (BPP) switch from the smart junction box (SJB) through circuit SEP32 (VT/RD). When the pedal is pressed, the BPP switch supplies voltage to the 4X4 control module on circuit CCB15 (BN/GN).
NOTE:
4X4 control module DTC B1483 and DTC B1485 will set only if neutral tow has been installed on the vehicle.
- DTC B1483 Brake Pedal Input Circuit Failure-With Neutral Tow enabled, this DTC will set for an open or short to ground on the BPP switch circuits.
- DTC B1485 Brake Pedal Input Short to Battery-With Neutral Tow enabled, this DTC will set if brake pedal is depressed during the self test.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- 4X4 control module
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- BPP switch
