Four wheel drive (4WD) vehicles

- Remove the dual converter Y-pipe. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM article.
- Secure the axle housing to a suitable jack.
- Remove the 3 axle housing mounting bolts and lower the front axle housing approximately 25 mm (1 in).
- Discard the front axle housing support bolts and nuts.
NOTE:
Some vehicles are equipped with a 2-piece dual converter Y-pipe (LH and RH).
NOTE:
Driveshaft removed for clarity.
CAUTION:
Any time bolts, washers, spacers or nuts are loosened in the front axle housing for any reason, install new components to prevent damage.
