Removal And Installation

CAUTION: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material created while cleaning gasket surfaces that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan, can cause engine failure.
  1. Remove the rocker arms. For additional information, refer to Valve Train Components - Exploded View  or Rocker Arm  in this article.
  2. NOTE: Identify and mark the location of each push rod. Each push rod must be installed in the original location.
  3. Remove the push rods.
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Lubricate the push rods with clean engine oil.
