Exhaust Manifold - LH: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
  3. Remove the exhaust flange nuts.
  4. Remove the nut and the oil level indicator and tube assembly.
  5. Remove the nut and the upper intake manifold support brace.
  6. Detach the exhaust manifold-to-exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve tube from the exhaust manifold.
  7. Remove the bolts, stud bolts, exhaust manifold and gasket.
    • Discard the bolts, stud bolts and exhaust manifold gasket.
  8. Clean and inspect the exhaust manifold. For additional information, refer to ENGINE SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
