Exhaust Manifold - LH: Installation

- Install the exhaust manifold gasket, exhaust manifold, bolts and stud bolts.
- Tighten in the sequence shown in 2 stages:
- Stage 1: Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).
- Attach the exhaust manifold-to-EGR valve tube to the exhaust manifold.
- Tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
- Install the upper intake manifold support brace and nut.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Install the oil level indicator and tube assembly.
- Coat the oil level indicator tube with silicone gasket and sealant.
- Install the oil level indicator tube bracket nut.
- Tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft).
- Install the exhaust flange nuts.
- Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
NOTE:
Install a new exhaust manifold gasket, bolts and stud bolts.
NOTE:
The end of the oil level indicator tube should be cleaned with metal surface prep before application of the sealant.
