Cylinder Head: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
- Remove the lower intake manifold. For additional information, refer to Lower Intake Manifold in this article.
- Remove the A/C compressor. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL article.
- Remove the generator. For additional information, refer to GENERATOR AND REGULATOR article.
- Remove the power steering pump. For additional information, refer to POWER STEERING article.
- Remove the bolts and the generator mounting bracket.
- Remove the bolts and the rocker arms.
- Remove the nut and detach the wiring harness bracket.
- Remove the 2 stud bolts from the rear of the A/C compressor mounting bracket.
- Remove the accessory drive belt tensioner.
- Remove the bolts and remove the front of the A/C compressor mounting bracket.

- Remove the 2 cylinder block coolant drain plugs.
- Remove and discard the 8 cylinder head bolts.
- Remove the cylinder heads.
- Remove and discard the cylinder head gaskets.
