Valve Seals: Installation

Install the valve stem seal installation sleeve.

Using the special tool, install a new valve seal.

NOTE: Check the seating of the valve spring retainer keys.

Using the special tools, install the valve spring.
- Insert the valve spring and the valve spring retainer.
- Compress the valve spring and install the valve spring retainer keys using some grease and a small screwdriver.
Disconnect the compressed air supply and install the spark plug.
- Tighten to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft).
Repeat the appropriate removal and installation steps for each of the cylinders being serviced.
Coat the valve tappets with clean engine oil and install them in their original positions.
