Axle Carrier Bushing: Removal

  1. Remove the axle assembly. For additional information, refer to Axle Assembly .
  2. Fig 1: Index-Marking Housing In Line With Arrow On Special Tool (204-187)

  3. Place the special tool on the insulator and index-mark the housing in line with the arrow on the special tool.

  5. Using a feeler gauge, measure the gap between the insulator flange and the axle housing. Record the measurement.

  7. Tap the special tool on between the axle housing and the insulator flange.

  9. Assemble the remaining remover tools. Remove and discard the insulator.
