Brake Drums Installed

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
- At the back of the brake backing plate, remove the brake adjusting hole cover.
- Rotate the brake shoe adjusting screw.
- Move the brake shoe adjusting lever off the brake shoe adjusting screw.
- Using the special tool or equivalent, turn the adjusting screw until the brake drum begins to drag. Then loosen the brake adjusting screw until the brake drum rotates freely.
- Install a new brake backing plate adjusting hole cover.
