Belt-Minder® Deactivating/Activating: Deactivating/Activating

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. (Do not start the engine.)
  2. Wait until the safety belt warning indicator turns off (approximately 1 minute).
    3. NOTE: Step 3 must be completed within 60 seconds after the safety belt warning indicator turns off.

    After this step the safety belt warning indicator illuminates for 3 seconds.

  3. Buckle and unbuckle the safety belt 9 times, ending with the safety belt unbuckled.
    4. NOTE: Carry out this step within 10 seconds after the safety belt warning indicator is illuminated.
  4. Buckle and unbuckle the safety belt.
  5. The following sequence of events confirm the safety belt minder is enabled:
    • Flashing of the safety belt warning indicator 4 times per second for 3 seconds
    • Three seconds with the safety belt warning indicator off
    • Flashing the safety belt warning indicator 4 times per second for 3 seconds again
  6. The safety belt warning indicator flashing 4 times per second for 3 seconds provides confirmation of safety belt minder disabled.
  7. After confirmation, the deactivation/activation procedure is complete.
