Removal And Installation

NOTE:
New bolts must be installed, do not reuse the bolts that were removed. The studs and nuts can be reused.
- Remove the seat retainer covers.
- Remove the front safety belts from the front seat. For additional information, refer to SAFETY BELT SYSTEM article.
- Remove the front bench seat.
- Remove and discard the front 2 bolts.
- To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
- Remove the 2 rear nuts.
- To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
- Disconnect the safety belt buckle electrical connector, and remove the front seat.
- Remove and discard the front 2 bolts.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Make sure the safety belt and buckles are accessible to the occupants after installation.
- Adjust the seat to the full forward and rearward positions a few times to make sure the safety belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants after installation.
- Make sure the safety belt is not twisted prior to installation.
NOTE:
Removing the front seat requires more than one technician.
NOTE:
When installing the seat, tighten the new front bolts, then the rear nuts.
