Removal And Installation

NOTE: New bolts must be installed, do not reuse the bolts that were removed. The studs and nuts can be reused.
  1. Remove the seat retainer covers.
  2. Remove the front safety belts from the front seat. For additional information, refer to SAFETY BELT SYSTEM article.
  3. NOTE: Removing the front seat requires more than one technician.

  4. Remove the front bench seat.
    • Remove and discard the front 2 bolts.
      • To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
    • Remove the 2 rear nuts.
      • To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
    • Disconnect the safety belt buckle electrical connector, and remove the front seat.
  5. NOTE: When installing the seat, tighten the new front bolts, then the rear nuts.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Make sure the safety belt and buckles are accessible to the occupants after installation.
    • Adjust the seat to the full forward and rearward positions a few times to make sure the safety belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants after installation.
    • Make sure the safety belt is not twisted prior to installation.
