Removal and Installation

- With vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
- Remove the HO2S from the exhaust manifold using the special tool and discard.
- To install, tighten to 48 N.m (35 lb-ft).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Apply a light coat of anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the HO2S.
NOTE:
If necessary, lubricate the HO2S with lock lubricant to aid in removal.
NOTE:
Do not reuse HO2S. If removed, a new sensor must be installed.
