Removal and Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Mercury Montego, 2006 Ford Freestyle, and 2006 Ford Five Hundred. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the 2 bolts, disconnect the electrical connector and position the degas bottle aside.
    • Tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb-in).
  2. Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors as follows:
    • Camshaft position sensor (CMP)
    • Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S)
    • A/C pressure switch
    • Cooling fan
  3. Release the 3 nuts and position aside the engine wiring harness.
    • To install, tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb-in).

  4. Remove the engine accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Using the special tool, remove the power steering pump pulley.

  6. To install reverse the removal procedure.
  7. NOTE: If the pulley hub has no marks or one mark, mark the pulley hub with paint before installing it. If the pulley hub has 2 marks, install a new pulley.

  8. Using the special tool, install the power steering pump pulley.
