Removal and Installation

    All vehicles 

  1. Remove the overhead console bezel.
    • Release the locking tabs while pulling down.

  2. Remove the screws and the left and right visors.
    • If equipped, disconnect the electrical connector.

  3. Position the left and right front door opening weatherstripping down from the headliner.

  4. Remove the left and right windshield side garnish moulding. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  5. NOTE: SuperCab shown, Regular Cab and Crew Cabs similar.
    NOTE: Crew Cab vehicles are equipped with 2 courtesy lamps.
  6. Remove the courtesy lamp(s).
    • Remove the courtesy lamp lens, then remove the screws.

  7. NOTE: Regular Cab shown, SuperCab and Crew Cabs similar.

  8. Remove the scuff plate(s).
  9. SuperCab vehicles 

  10. Remove the left and right rear door striker covers at the roof trim panel.

  11. If equipped, remove the safety belt shoulder height adjuster cover pin-type retainers.

  12. If equipped, remove the safety belt shoulder height adjusters.
    1. Position the safety belt shoulder height adjuster cover down.
    2. Remove the bolt.
    3. Remove the safety belt shoulder height adjuster.

  13. Crew Cab vehicles 

  14. Remove the rear B-pillar assist handles.
    1. Remove the 4 covers (2 on each handle).
    2. Remove the 4 screws (2 on each handle).
    3. Remove the 2 B-pillar assist handles.

  15. CAUTION: If the safety belt retractor is to be reused, do not allow the safety belt to be retracted all the way into the retractor. Doing so may cause the retractor to lock and not release the safety belt.
    NOTE: Inspect the shoulder safety belt guide and cover for damage. If the shoulder safety belt guide or cover is damaged or cover does not remain closed, install a new shoulder safety belt guide.
  16. Remove the LH and RH shoulder safety belt guides.
    1. Position the shoulder safety belt guide cover up.
    2. Remove the shoulder safety belt guide nut.
      • To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
    3. Remove the shoulder safety belt guide.

  17. Position the B-pillar trim panels aside.

  18. All vehicles 

  19. Remove the 2 headliner rear pin-type retainers.

  20. Remove the LH and RH shoulder safety belt guides.
    1. Position the shoulder safety belt guide cover up.
    2. Remove the shoulder safety belt guide nut.
      • To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
    3. Remove the shoulder safety belt guide.

  21. Position the LH and RH B-pillar trim panels aside.

  22. If equipped, remove the assist handle(s).
    1. Remove the covers and bolts.
    2. Remove the assist handle.

  24. Remove the 2 coat hooks.
  25. Remove the 2 headliner front pin-type retainers and position the headliner aside.

  26. NOTE: Pull down at the front of the bracket first.
  27. Remove the overhead console bracket.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector.

  28. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
