Pinpoint Test A: A Single Power Window Is Inoperative - Power Sliding Window

  1. A1 CHECK VOLTAGE TO THE REAR WINDOW ADJUST SWITCH 
    • Disconnect: Power Sliding Window Switch C203.
    • Key in ON position.
    • Measure the voltage between power sliding window switch C203-2, circuit 400 (LB/BK) harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 

    Yes  : GO to A2.

    No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

  2. A2 CHECK GROUND TO THE POWER SLIDING WINDOW SWITCH 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Measure the resistance between power sliding window switch C203-3, circuit 57 (BK) harness side and ground; and between power sliding window switch C203-6, circuit 57 (BK) harness side and ground.

    • Are the resistances less than 5 ohms? 

    Yes  : GO to A3.

    No  : REPAIR the circuit(s). TEST the system for normal operation.

  3. A3 CHECK THE POWER SLIDING WINDOW SWITCH 
    • Key in ON position.
    • Connect a fused jumper between power sliding window switch C203-2, circuit 400 (LB/BK) and C203-1, circuit 405 (VT/LB) harness side; and between power sliding window switch C203-7, circuit 404 (VT/LG) and C203-6, circuit 57 (BK) harness side. The power sliding window should close.

    • Connect a fused jumper between power sliding window switch C203-2, circuit 400 (LB/BK) and C203-7, circuit 404 (VT/LG) harness side; and between power sliding window switch C203-1, circuit 405 (VT/LB) and C203-3, circuit 57 (BK) harness side. The power sliding window should open.

    • Did the power sliding window OPEN and CLOSE? 

    Yes  : INSTALL a new power sliding window switch. TEST the system for normal operation.

    No  : REMOVE the jumper wires. GO to A4.

  4. A4 CHECK CIRCUIT 404 (VT/LG) AND CIRCUIT 405 (VT/LB) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    • Key in ON position.
    • Disconnect: Power Sliding Window Motor C312.
    • Measure the voltage between power sliding window motor C312-1, circuit 404 (VT/LG) and C312-2, circuit 405 (VT/LB) harness side and ground.

    • Is voltage present? 

    Yes  : REPAIR the circuit(s). TEST the system for normal operation.

    No  : GO to A5.

  5. A5 CHECK CIRCUIT 404 (VT/LG) AND CIRCUIT 405 (VT/LB) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Measure the resistance between rear window motor C312-1, circuit 404 (VT/LG) and C312-2, circuit 405 (VT/LB) harness side and ground.

    • Are the resistances greater than 10,000 ohms? 

    Yes  : GO to A6.

    No  : REPAIR the circuit(s). TEST the system for normal operation.

  6. A6 CHECK CIRCUIT 404 (VT/LG) AND CIRCUIT 405 (VT/LB) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Measure the resistance between power sliding window motor C312-1, circuit 404 (VT/LG) and power sliding window switch C203-7, circuit 404 (VT/LG) harness side; and between power sliding window motor C312-2, circuit 405 (VT/LB) and power sliding window switch C203-1, 405 (VT/LB) harness side.

    • Are the resistances less than 5 ohms? 

    Yes  : INSTALL a new rear window motor. TEST the system for normal operation.

    No  : REPAIR the circuit(s). TEST the system for normal operation.
