Pilot Bearing: Installation

    5.4L and 6.8L engines 

    CAUTION: Never install a used transmission input shaft pilot bearing.
    NOTE: The new transmission input shaft pilot bearing is pregreased and does not require additional lubrication.

  1. Using a soft-face hammer and the special tool, install the new input shaft pilot bearing.
  2. 6.0L engines 

    CAUTION: Never install a used transmission input shaft pilot bearing.
    NOTE: The new transmission input shaft pilot bearing is pregreased and does not require additional lubrication.
  3. Using a soft-face hammer and a suitable driver, install the new input shaft pilot bearing.
