External Controls
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Mercury Mariner and 2006 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The external control of the electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT) is mechanically controlled by a cable connected to the floor shifter and electronically controlled by the TR sensor (located in the floor shifter assembly). The floor shifter position determines PARK, REVERSE, NEUTRAL, DRIVE and LOW modes.
