  • The parking brake will not apply
  • Binding parking brake control
  • If the parking brake control operates smoothly, ADJUST the parking brake cable. REFER to PARKING BRAKE CABLE ADJUSTMENT . If the parking brake control binds, REPAIR or INSTALL a new parking brake control.
  • Binding or broken parking brake cables
  • REPAIR or INSTALL a new parking brake cable(s) as necessary.
  • Damaged parking brake vacuum release switch
  • INSTALL a new parking brake vacuum release switch.
  • The parking brake will not release
  • Binding parking brake cables
  • REPAIR or INSTALL a new parking brake cable(s) as necessary.
  • Damaged manual parking brake release handle
  • INSTALL a new parking brake release handle.
  • Damaged vacuum parking brake release components
  • Parking brake will not hold on a grade
