Normal Operation
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Lincoln MKX and 2010 Ford Edge. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
When the global open feature is activated, the Smart Junction Box (SJB) sends a signal to the roof opening sliding glass panel motor through circuit VPW01 (GN/BU) to open the roof opening sliding glass panel when a global open request has been received from the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter. When the roof opening sliding glass panel motor receives the global open request, the shade panels will automatically move to the fully OPEN position (if shades are not already fully open), followed by the sliding glass panel moving to the VENT position. If the accessory delay relay is active, the global open feature will not operate.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Roof opening sliding glass panel motor is not initialized
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Roof opening sliding glass panel motor
- SJB
- RKE transmitters
