Removal and Installation

Edge 

  1. Remove the headlamp switch. For additional information, refer to EXTERIOR LIGHTING .
  2. Remove the steering column opening trim panel. For additional information, refer to Instrument Panel - Exploded View in INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE .
  3. Position aside the side demister hose.
  4. Disconnect the instrument panel dimmer switch electrical connector.
  5. NOTE: The 3 screws are accessed by reaching through the side opening in the instrument panel and the opening under the steering column using a size T-20 torx® tool.
  6. Remove the 3 screws and the instrument panel dimmer switch mounting bracket.
  7. Release the tabs and remove the instrument panel dimmer switch from the bracket.

    MKX 

  8. Remove the instrument panel side finish panel.
  9. NOTE: The headlamp switch assembly is removed by pushing from behind.
  10. Release the tabs and remove the headlamp switch assembly.
    • Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  11. Release the tabs and remove the instrument panel dimmer switch.

    All vehicles 

  12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
