Window Glass - Liftgate: Removal

- Remove rear wiper motor. For additional information, refer to WIPERS AND WASHERS .
- If equipped, remove the liftgate spoiler. For additional information, refer to EXTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
- Disconnect the 2 liftgate window defrost electrical connectors.
- Using the Deluxe Windshield Removal Tool, begin cutting the urethane adhesive at the top center and work toward the bottom corners.
- Using the Deluxe Windshield Removal Tool, cut the remaining urethane adhesive and remove the liftgate window glass.

NOTE:
To avoid rust formation, use extreme care not to scratch the paint or primer, or otherwise damage the pinch weld during glass removal.
NOTE:
Insert the blade into the Deluxe Windshield Removal Tool so that the flat side is against the glass. This will leave the entire urethane adhesive bead on the pinch weld and allow a dry fit of the replacement liftgate window glass.
NOTE:
Lubricate the existing urethane adhesive with water to aid the Deluxe Windshield Removal Tool while cutting.
