Removal and Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Lincoln MKX and 2010 Ford Edge. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the 2 screws and the steering column opening trim panel.
  2. Remove the 3 screws and the lower steering column shroud.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector, and using a suitable tool (such as a dentist pick), release the tabs and remove the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) transceiver.
  4. NOTE: Replacement of the PATS  transceiver does not require the PATS  keys to be programmed into the Instrument Cluster (IC) again.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
