Removal and Installation

WARNING:
Do not use any fluid other than clean brake fluid meeting manufacturer's specification. Additionally, do not use brake fluid that has been previously drained. Following these instructions will help prevent system contamination, brake component damage and the risk of serious personal injury.

NOTE:
Do not spill brake fluid on painted or plastic surfaces or damage to the surface may occur. If brake fluid is spilled onto a painted or plastic surface, immediately wash the surface with water.
- Remove the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Remove the reservoir pin bolt and the brake fluid reservoir.
- To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
- Remove and discard the 2 seals.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Bleed the brake master cylinder. For additional information, refer to Component Bleeding in BRAKE SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION .
NOTE:
Install new seals. Lubricate the seals with clean, specified brake fluid.
