Low Transmission Fluid Level

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Lincoln MKX and 2010 Ford Edge. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Do not drive the vehicle if the transmission fluid level is below the "MIN" level. An underfill condition can cause shift/engagement concerns or transmission damage.

If the transmission fluid level is below the "MIN" range on the transmission fluid level indicator, add fluid to reach the hashmark level. A low transmission fluid level could result in poor transaxle engagement, slipping, malfunction and/or damage. This could also indicate a leak in one of the transaxle seals or gaskets.
