Removal & Installation: Fender: Installation

  1. Position the fender.
  2. NOTE: An assistant is needed to support the fender when installing this bolt on the RH fender.
  3. Install the rear inner fender bolt.
  4. Install the 2 upper rear fender bolts.
    • Tighten to 43 Nm (32 lb-ft).
  5. Install the rear fender bolt.
    • Tighten to 28 Nm (21 lb-ft).
  6. Install the 2 rocker panel fender bolts and any required spacers.
    • Tighten to 28 Nm (21 lb-ft).
  7. NOTE: The vehicle must be at the correct ride height when the front of the fender is attached. Failure to lower the vehicle will cause a misalignment between the radiator support and the fender.
  8. Install the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION article.
  9. Install the 2 upper front fender bolts.
    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
  10. Install the 3 lower front fender bolts.
    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
  11. Install the fender brace bolt.
    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
  12. Position the rocker panel molding and install the 2 pin-type retainers.
  13. NOTE: Body grounds may vary from side-to-side.
  14. Install the ground wire bolts.
    • Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
  15. NOTE: The wire harness trough is only located on the LH fender.
  16. Position the wiring harness trough and hood latch release cable and install the 2 screws.
  17. Install the front bumper cover. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION article.
  18. Install the fender splash shield. For additional information, refer to Fender Splash Shield - LH  or Fender Splash Shield - RH .
  19. NOTE: Two technicians are needed to carry out this step.
  20. Position the hood and line up the hood with the marks on the hinges and install the 4 hood hinge bolts.
    • Tighten to 28 Nm (21 lb-ft).
  21. Install the cowl panel grille. For additional information, refer to Cowl Panel Grille .
