Symptom Chart - NVH

NOTE: NVH symptoms should be identified using the diagnostic tools that are available. Since it is possible any one of multiple systems may be the cause of a symptom, it may be necessary to use a process of elimination type of diagnostic approach to pinpoint the responsible system. If this is not the causal system for the symptom, refer back to NOISE, VIBRATION & HARSHNESS for the next likely system and continue diagnosis.

SYMPTOM CHART - NVH

Condition	Possible Sources	Action
Vibration - a high frequency (20- 80 Hz) vibration that is felt through the seat or the selector lever. Changes with engine speed	Selector lever cable incorrectly routed, grounded out or loose	REFER to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE .
	Loose selector lever cable bracket	CHECK the selector lever cable and bracket for damage and correct assembly. REFER to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE . REPAIR as necessary.
Rattle, noise, buzz or other noise	Selector lever loose	TIGHTEN the selector lever bolts.
Rattle, noise, buzz or other noise	Noisy selector lever	INSTALL a new selector lever. REFER to the SELECTOR LEVER .
