System Warning Messages

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Mercury Mariner and 2010 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The system warning messages alert the operator to possible problems or malfunctions in the vehicle operating systems. The message center displays the last selected feature if there are no additional warning messages. Once a warning message has been displayed, the message must be acknowledged to allow full functionality of the message center. Press the RESET button to acknowledge and clear the warning message. The warning messages are divided into 3 basic categories:

Cannot be cleared until the condition is corrected.
Reappears 10 minutes after pressing the RESET button.
Reappears if the condition clears then reoccurs within the same ignition ON-OFF cycle.

The warning messages that cannot be reset are:

DRIVER DOOR AJAR
PASSENGER DOOR AJAR
REAR LEFT DOOR AJAR
REAR RIGHT DOOR AJAR

The warning messages that reoccur after 10 minutes are:

XXX MILES (KM) TO EMPTY FUEL LEVEL LOW
STOP SAFELY NOW (hybrid)
HIGH ENGINE TEMPERATURE (hybrid)
HIGH MOTOR TEMPERATURE (hybrid)
PARK BRAKE ENGAGED

When a condition exists, the warning messages that are displayed whenever the ignition switch is turned from the OFF position to the ON position are:

LIFTGATE/GLASS AJAR
SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM
LOW BRAKE FLUID
REGEN BRAKES DISABLED (hybrid)
TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR FAULT
LOW TIRE PRESSURE
TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR FAULT
OIL CHANGE REQUIRED
XXX% OIL LIFE/CHANGE OIL SOON
CHECK FUEL FILL INLET
TRAILER SWAY REDUCE SPEED
READY TO DRIVE

The message center displays the following messages that are used with the MyKey™ function (if equipped)

SPEED LIMITED TO 130 km/h/80 MPH
VEHICLE SPEED 130 km/h/81 MPH MAX
MYKEY ACTIVE DRIVE SAFELY
CHECK SPEED DRIVE SAFELY
VEHICLE NEAR TOP SPEED
BUCKLE UP TO UNMUTE AUDIO
ADVTRAC ON MYKEY SETTING
KEY COULD NOT PROGRAM
TOP SPEED MYKEY SETTING

The message center displays the following messages that are used with the active park assist system (if equipped).

The message center displays warning messages that indicate a system state during repair procedures related to the TPMS . The displayed messages are as follows:

TRAIN LF TIRE
TRAIN RF TIRE
TRAIN LR TIRE
TRAIN RR TIRE
TRAINING COMPLETE
TIRES NOT TRAINED
