Clutch System Bleeding: Material

PM-1-C (US); CPM-1-C (Canada)		 WSS-M6C62-A or WSSM6C65-A1

NOTE: Do not spill brake fluid on painted or plastic surfaces or damage to the surface may occur. If brake fluid is spilled onto a painted or plastic surface, immediately wash the surface with water.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Check the fluid level of the brake/clutch reservoir. Fill the reservoir with the specified fluid to the MAX mark.

  3. Remove the 7 splash shield bolts and the pushpin, then remove the splash shield.

  4. Remove the bleeder screw cover and attach a rubber hose to the bleeder screw. Place the other end of the rubber hose into a clear container partially filled with the specified brake fluid.

  5. Have an assistant depress and release the clutch pedal 5 to 7 times. Fully depress the clutch pedal to the floor and hold down.
  6. With the clutch pedal depressed, loosen the bleeder screw until fluid and air escape the system. With the clutch being held to the floor, tighten the bleeder screw. Repeat Steps  5 and 6 until no air comes from the rubber hose.
  7. Tighten the bleeder screw.
    • Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
  8. Install the bleeder screw cover.
  9. Position the splash shield and install the 7 bolts and the pushpin.
  10. Check the fluid level of the reservoir. Fill the reservoir with the specified fluid to the MAX mark. Install the reservoir cap.

  11. Depress and release the clutch pedal several times.
  12. Test the clutch system for normal operation.
