P2805 - Transmission Range Sensor A/B Correlation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Mercury Mariner and 2010 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
P2805 - TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR A/B CORRELATION

Description:  The powertrain control module (PCM) checks the gear selector position by monitoring two independent voltage signals from the transmission range (TR) sensor. The TR voltages are then compared to an allowed voltage range for each gear. The test fails when the compared voltages are out of range. This DTC indicates that all two TR sensors disagree but are still within range.
Possible Causes:
  • TR circuits shorted together
  • Damaged TR sensor
