PINPOINT TEST K: AN INDIVIDUAL BUTTON/FEATURE IS INOPERATIVE FROM THE Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) TRANSMITTER

NOTE:
The panic feature will only operate when the key is in the OFF position.
- K1 VERIFY THE DOOR LOCK OPERATION
- Press the lock and unlock button from the driver door lock control switch while observing the door lock operation.
- Do the door locks operate correctly?
- YES : Go to K2.
- NO : Go to Symptom Chart .
- K2 VERIFY THE HORN OPERATION
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: SJB DataLogger
- Select the SJB PID (HORN) and active command the horn on.
- Does the horn sound when commanded on?
- K3 VERIFY THE HAZARD LAMP OPERATION
- Place the hazard switch in the ON position.
- Do the hazard lamps operate correctly?
- YES : Go to K4.
- NO : REFER to EXTERIOR LIGHTING article.
- K4 VERIFY THE LIFTGATE OR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LATCH OPERATION
- Press the liftgate (located on the liftgate trim panel) or luggage compartment (located next to the headlamp switch) release button.
- Does the liftgate or luggage compartment release?
NOTE: The liftgate must be unlocked before verifying the liftgate release operation.- YES : REPLACE the inoperative IKT and PROGRAM all of the IKTs. REFER to ANTI-THEFT - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) article. INFORM the customer that any IKTs not present need to be programmed. TEST the system for normal operation.
- NO : Go to Symptom Chart .
