Pinpoint Test E: B2A20 - Ignition Stuck In Start

NOTE: Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multi-meter probes.
  1. E1 VERIFY THE IGNITION SWITCH MECHANICAL FUNCTION 
    • Inspect the ignition switch for mechanical function. Refer to Ignition Switch - Mechanical  in Component Test.
    • Is the ignition switch OK? 
    1. YES  : Go to  E2.
    2. NO  : INSTALL a new ignition switch. REFER to Ignition Switch . CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation. RETRIEVE any DTCs.
  2. E2 CHECK THE IGNITION SWITCH FOR A SHORT 
    1. YES  : Go to  E3.
    2. NO  : INSTALL a new ignition switch. REFER to Ignition Switch . CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation. RETRIEVE any DTCs.
  3. E3 CHECK CIRCUIT CDC35 (BU/WH) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Ignition Switch C250
    • Disconnect: OTIS Diode
    • Key in ON position.
    • Measure the voltage between the OTIS diode, circuit CDC35 (BU/WH), input side and ground.

    • Is any voltage present? 
    1. YES  : REPAIR circuit CDC35 (BU/WH). CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation. RETRIEVE any DTCs.
    2. NO  : Go to  E4.
  4. E4 CHECK CIRCUIT CE336 (GN/WH) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    • Measure the voltage between the OTIS diode, circuit CE336 (GN/WH), output side and ground.

    • Is any voltage present? 
    1. YES  : REPAIR circuit CE336 (GN/WH). CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation. RETRIEVE any DTCs.
    2. NO  : Go to  E5.
  5. E5 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION 
    • Disconnect: SJB C2280b
    • Check SJB connector C2280b for:
      • corrosion.
      • pushed-out pins.
      • spread terminals.
    • Connect: SJB C2280b
    • Make sure the connector is seated correctly, then operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES article. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation. RETRIEVE any DTCs.
    2. NO  : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
