Removal And Installation

WARNING: Do not smoke, carry lighted tobacco or have an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
  1. Remove the throttle body (TB). For additional information, refer to Throttle Body .
  2. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose.
  3. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve tube quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
  4. Disconnect the EGR system module vacuum supply hose from the TB spacer.
  5. Disconnect the PCV tube quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
  6. Remove the 5 TB spacer bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  7. Remove the TB spacer and gasket.
    • Discard the TB spacer gasket.
  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Install a new gasket on the TB spacer.
